The first thing you must remember when creating a site: MAKE IT EASY FOR YOU TO NAVIGATE!
No one will offer two pennys on your current super designed site whenever they cannot find what they desire! Create a site in order that it will combine design along with usability!
I have made a directory of what I consider to get the worlds biggest web-page design and style mistakes. Look at this mistakes and learn from them!
I. Stupid, useless and annoying elements that never allow the visitor find what they really want.
1. STUPID SPLASH WEB SITE. Ok, maybe you will say which a splash page(whether it is well done) may look cool. Yes it could possibly. But think of your visitor’s time. That splash page is incredibly often longer than it will. You could actually wipe out your sales. What think that a potential customer would choose? To stay and look hours for your splash page or to travel and buy the product that they wants so much? If you create a site, try and think more at the potential customer than how to present your flash-creator skills. It doesn’t care about you, they love themselves!
2. APPLETS ALONG WITH PLUGINS. Use them Provided that you really need these people. Not just to improve your website. Again, you better think again more at the guest. Maybe they don’t have installed some plugin and your written content wwill not work. And then, your website is useless plus the potential customer goes on the competition. Now that’s nice.
II. Thinking at Internet explorer as the supreme leader
Any professional-made website must be compatible with any internet browser. This is a tip. Always check your website to get friendly with all significant browsers: Opera, Firefox, WEB BROWSER. Don’t send your people to the competition just given that they don’t use IE.
3. Stupid created navigation.
An issue that any webmaster should accomplish: Spend hours and hours thinking tips on how to simplify the navigation! Ofcourse I’m jocking but if your site is created one of several first question you should contemplate: “Is this site uncomplicated enough to navigate? ” Should your answer is no, and then is bad. Really genuinely bad. The visitor are able to know at any time where as part of your website he is; He should now in a few moments how to reach the knowledge he needs!
IV. To much home elevators one page
Structure the knowledge. DO NOT put everything on one page. Do not put to many people menus on the web site. Try not to wipe out the visitors eyes. Try to keep a readable layout. Most of your visitors hate to scroll.
Versus. Text
Do not employ small texts. Why there are so many sites online with texts of a real small size? I have no clue. I tell you yet again: kepp your webpage readable. Use texts big enough in order that the visitor can see what you making the effort to tell him through your page.
